One of my favorites! Everything about this place is awesome.
(5)Kristi D.
Excellent beer selection, many craft beers from around Michigan. The ribs are amazing! It is a small place but it makes up for its size with a big hearty selection of great food!
(4)Julie C.
This place is a gem! Excellent food and a great atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back. This was a last-minute find for some friends and I. I am happy that we stumbled upon it.

The food was very good and would have warranted a 4 or 5 star review, but the service was horrible on our visit. We were a part of a larger group of about 16 people, and I can certainly understand some small confusion when dealing with a group that large. However, we had two dinners which did not even arrive at the table until everyone else was finished eating -- easily an hour and a half after we walked in the door -- and then the one steak dinner that arrived late wasn't even cooked to the medium-well that was requested; it was, in fact, closer to medium-rare. Their solution was to throw it in the microwave and return it a moment later. No apologies, no apparent concern... It even took an additional 20 minutes for the bills to arrive after they had been asked for. I've been with "difficult" diners before, and the folks I was with definitely did not fall in that category. And in the end they still charged us for the horribly late, poorly cooked meals. Unfortunately the food alone won't be enough to have me return.

Maybe it was an off night, it happens. My husband's perch was qiuite greasy and over cooked. My scallops were just okay. French fries were limp and dripping with grease. I have to say that the hint of dill in the cole slaw is delicious!
(3)Clark D.
Great little place for seafood - Best in the area. Unfortunately, (well, fortunately for them) it has become very popular. Getting a table without a reservation during busy hours is nightmarish. Come anytime besides Friday / Saturday nights (or wait at the park on the river, across the street), and remember to get some smoked fish to go. Good craft beer offerings.
(4)Susan B.
I'm going to seem like an odd ball here, but what I remember most about the awesome meal we had here was the... COLESLAW! It was something my husband and I both tasted at the same time, looked at each other, and smiled with our eyes (our mouths were too busy crunching). It was made with FRESH DILL! It was cold and crunchy and so well seasoned. At that moment I realized that I was an appreciator of GOOD coleslaw. Who knew! It was "all you can eat perch" so that's what we both decided to try. It was fine, but what we remembered most about the meal we had that night was the coleslaw. Oh and the smoked fish we took home for later. Good stuff at the Marine City Fish Company!
(4)Mark L.
Yep... another fine meal at the "Marine City Fish Company". I won't even mention what I had this time... just that it was very good... again. I will say (once again), that this place can get a bit busy at times (and with only one or two servers) you can find yourself waiting a tad longer than you might like. But, the food is worth that extra wait (I think, anyways). They still haven't gotten their liquor license yet (they ARE working on it). I'm still going to pick this place EVERY TIME over the "River Crab" up the river (because their food beats the "Crab" in terms of taste and quality)... just don't stop by if you're in a hurry. Oh... and try the Smoked Salmon Cakes... OH, MY, GOODNESS... I'll take these over anyone's crab cakes ANY DAY!!
(4)Nancy G.
Love Love Love this place. My husband and I took my father here for an early dinner on a Sunday. My father and I had the clam chowder. We both said to each other that it was the best chowder we have ever had!! I had the ribs and honestly they were the best i ever had! They have a smoke house in the back. My Dad had the fish sampler, which was a special that day. He had to take some home cause it was too much to eat. Which is a good thing cause it was not overly priced. My husband enjoyed their perch. They have more than BBQ and Fish there. We had great service too. I am looking forward to going back to try more items on the menu. Oh and yes the cole slaw is great with a hint of dill. Best restaurant in Marine City hands down!!
(5)Daroki K.
Tomato salmon bisque was delicious, but I'm still waiting for the return of the Smoked Chowder. Had the smoked chowder the first time I was there and it was quite possibly the best soup I have ever had, but I need to have it again its been years! Anyway I LOVE this place, I'm always impressed by the portions, the flavor and the prices (while not cheap, reasonable for what you get). Salmon dip is nice and ample. Whitefish on Cedar plank is my standard order, but last time the Mahi Mahi fajitas were incredible, I'm a big eater and I had to take some home. Can't say enough good stuff about these guys, if you love fish you deserve to visit Marine City Fish Company. If the owner should read this BRING BACK THE SMOKED CHOWDER!!!
(5)Jesse C.
The Marine City Fish Co. is always the best place to eat in st clair co.
(5)Raquel L.
I live in Chicago, and when I came to visit family recently we went here for the best fish dinner I've ever had in the area. The perch was done perfectly! And for a great price. I'm used to being spoiled by good food in Chicago, and this restaurant can easily compete. I look forward to the next trip to Marine City just to eat here:)
(5)Lucy M.
Great restaurant! Love the pasta dishes. My husbands favorite is the Italian Fisherman. Love the Feta Bread appetizer. Pesto salad dressing is awesome. Great fresh bread too. We try to go once a week. Learned the hard way they are closed on Monday.
(5)Wynne Westrick- A.
LOVE their food, great service! Great Service Delicious food - a real dining pleasure. Atmosphere is relaxed, informal but elegant presentation of every meal - recommend for any occassion.

One of the biggest surprises (pleasant ) I've had in long time at a restaurant. Middle of nowhere, unassuming place in a small town... awesome food. Our table was in a share-sy mood, so I was able to try the yellow belly perch and the smoked spare ribs. Highly recommend. The perch had a light, crispy finish on it that wasn't overdone. They serve it with a house tartar sauce that was a lot lighter in thickness than most, so it didn't overwhelm the fish. The ribs were really tender and the smoking on them was amazing. Hickory mesquite is where its at. We took home some of their smoked salmon and beef jerky (both made with their hickory/mesquite smoking)...unreal. If they shipped, I'd be ordering every month. Make sure if you go to at least take a look at these. They're not your traditional salt-bomb smoked salmon or super-chewy jerky. Plug this address into google if you're anywhere near D-Town, and if you can make it out here you'll love the food.
(4)John U.
Disappointed for the first time. Out of scallops on Saturday night and the brisket was fatty.
(3)Charlene M.
Their food is amazing! Tomato basil soup and fish company spread are just two of my favorites. Haven't had a bad meal ever. Reservations are a good idea. They have awesome smoked salmon and home made chips too. If you haven't tried this place then you need to!
(5)Tom K.
Good stuff, they know their fish. The Company Chowder is outstanding, a nice creamy soup with a touch of bacon. I could easily just eat a bowl of that for lunch, maybe with a beer... except they don't have a liquor license - but more on that later. I had the "Fisherman's Platter" special tonight, which featured several planks of battered whitefish and three jumbo shrimp, also battered. The batter was crunchy and flavorful, and complimented the fish very well. Their own tartar sauce added a nice touch. The menu features seafood, naturally, but also has pasta, beef and chicken choices for those less fishy-inclined. An earlier review expressed a hope that they would expand into the storefront next door; that's been done and there's plenty of seating now. Service was very quick and friendly, and today the owners were doing some gardening around the outdoor deck to add some more color. There's a pretty good view of the St. Clair River from the deck, only obstructed by the historic municipal water building across the street. It appears that a liquor license may be transferred to the MC FIsh Company in the near future (the city commission approved the transfer last month), but right now there are just soft drinks on the menu. Perhaps by the end of summer.... A gem in this small town, and worth the drive from outside the area.
(4)Amanda A.
This building has changed businesses several times, and this one is definitely the best so far. I went on a Tuesday for all you can eat perch, and it was excellent. You get loads of food. The perch was done just right, the shoestring fries were delicious (especially with some malt vinegar) and the clam chowder soup was the best I've had in a long time. It looks like they have a different all you can eat special each night during the week, and they're all priced about $11-13 which I'd say is a great deal considering the amount of food you get. The fresh baked bread at the table is also delicious. It's a small building right on the water, and it's in Marine City which is a really small town but I'm sure it still gets packed on Friday or Saturday nights, especially with fish this good. The place is decked out in fish gear and there is an outdoor patio that probably fits 5 or 6 tables in the summer, which is great for relaxing on the water in the evening. The waitstaff is very personable and friendly, which is sometimes hard to find in MC considering it's usually the same cranked out old people that have owned a place for 35 years. I'll be returning to MC Fish Company I'm sure, as long as they stick around. :)

Here is the straight poop on Marine City Fish Co. They take reservations...and you'd better make one. You can take your chances and not make a reservation, but you will probably have to wait. No big deal? The problem is, there is no place to wait. They have no waiting area inside, as it is extremely small. There is no bar inside to wait at and no place to sit outside and wait. My wife and I got there about 5:30 on a Sat. and had a 30 minute wait. We asked the hostess where we should wait and she said "most people wait in their cars". It was winter when we went, so a little too cold to stroll around. We made our way down the block and found a bar to have a drink and wait out our 30 minutes. When we got back, our table was ready, but it was super small and back by the bathroom. This must be the tables they use for non-reservation folks. This place is just getting busier, so this reservation fact will definitely impact your dining experience and I'm surprised there aren't more reviews talking about this. The Food It was really good. I had walleye and my wife had the "Italian Fisherman" which was a bowl with homemade pasta, mussels, calamari, shrimp and scallops. Both dishes were very good and fresh. The walleye was fried in Panko perfectly. Not the overly deep battered stuff you'd get at most places. We both loved the food and this is what definitely keeps the place packed. I could write more about the food, but if you read all of the other reviews, you'll see that the food is really good, so I won't re-hash what's already been written. At the time of our visit, they offered no liquor, but did offer beer and wine. The Service We had a great server. I was surprised by the amount of wait staff for so few tables. I found the pace of service to not be fast, but also not overly slow. The Atmosphere It's fish house decor is exactly what you'd expect. Completely casual. Jeans and shorts are no problem. You will have some folks dressed up for "Date Night" and those just coming off the boat to have dinner. I'd say "Country Club Casual" is your best play. The Location Marine City is a 2 block town on the St. Clair River. Not much here, but that's not a problem except for parking. In the summer, parking can be a bit tough and you may need to walk a block or two. The restaurant is not on the river. It is across the street from a park that is on the river. If you think you'll be eating with a view of the river, you probably won't be. So what... have dinner and then go walk it off across the street along the river. Overall Very simple formula to have a great experience. Make reservations. Show up hungry. Enjoy great food. Go for a walk. Repeat.

A short drive from Detroit Metro, the Marine City Fish Company is an unexpected treat. Let's get this out of the way first: the service is slow. Beyond slow. Slow enough that people at tables all around us made it a joke: "what's another two or three hours out of our lives?" Despite the slowness and weird inattentiveness (there were four servers for approx 16 tables), the food saves the day. Homemade bread, savory soups and plainly good seafood are to be found. The basics are winners. If you stray too far from the seafood standards, however, things get weird in a "I went to cooking school and I want to make a fusion of flavors" kind of way. Give it a shot if you find yourself in Marine City. Prepare for the long haul and hey, you can see Canada from your seat!

No complaints here... I went to Marine City Fish Company for the first time and I was not disappointed. Everything was spectacular. Our waitress was friendly, even offering to make arrangements because she could see that I was chilly. She was very busy but still gave very good service and did so with a smile. My boyfriend and I both started with the chicken chowder and could not have been more impressed! The bread was also quite tasty. For an entree, I had the seared perch. Perfect! The cheddar mashed potatoes were a tad cold but still very good. My boyfriend ordered some seared tuna special that they had. He enjoyed it but we both agree that my perch was better. He chose french fries for his potato and they were fresh cut fries, we both loved them. They were served with vinegar and ketchup. Overall, I could not be more impressed with our experience and will definitely be back!

One of our favorite seafood restaurants in MI. This gem is located in the quaint, small town Marine City Main Street. It is a small, lively place with in and outdoor seating. Noise level is high, which matches the energy and enthusiasm of the servers. Lots of interesting details to explore. The food is to die for. Salad selections are yummy with fresh, tasty ingredients. Fish is well prepared and always fresh. The Mac and cheese is an adult indulgence. Share it but don't pass it up. End with a yummy dessert. We had the berry cobbler. Good but a bit too sweet. Next time we will try the cherry pastry puff. On our next visit, I will post some pics.

A local business owner had recommended this restaurant to me, especially the perch, so I wanted to try it out. The last time we went there, it was very crowded. We didn't have reservations and didn't want to wait an hour, so we went elsewhere. Last Saturday I made reservations for 7:00. We arrived at 6:50. The hostess asked if we wanted indoor or outdoor. We told her it didn't matter, whatever was available first. The inside wasn't very cool anyway since the patio door was open. We were seated indoors at promptly at 7:01. We both ordered the yellow belly perch with hand cut fries. I ordered the tomato basil soup, which was excellent. After all the anticipation for how great the perch was, when we finally got it, it didn't meet our expectations. It could have been moister. The hand-cut fries were tiny, overcooked and extremely dry. When I saw "hand-cut" on the menu, I had envisioned large, steak fries, not the "bottom of the barrel" dried out small chunks of overcook potato that we were served. I ate a few and left the rest. I'm not trying to be critical or harsh, but telling it how it is. If we were to go back, we'd order different potatoes or rice as a side dish and try one of the other varieties of fish, which were plentiful.

Been waiting for a nice sunny day to head to the Marine City Fish Co. to use the gift card I received....WOW...1st of all the bread was so tasty and served warn so to melt my butter. The clam chowder was delicious and I'm from CALI so I know Clam Chowder...the flavoring was wonderful altho too many potatoes in it.The salad was simply a salad but the pesto dressing was another hit. Now onto the dinner...3 of us ordered 2 dinners to share. The Scallop dinner was to die for, lightly breaded and sauteed they melted in your mouth. The Medallions of Beef with Shrimp on top and a sauce of fontina cheese and cajun spices was absolutely a joy to my mouth. Being from the coast of California I eat alot of seafood but this was the best I have ever had. We got there on a Sunday at 4pm...no waiting, no lines and great parking. I'm sure it must get busy and there really is no place to wait but it didn't affect us today. They now serve beer and have quite a variety. My only regret is that I am leaving Detroit this week and will not be able to come back sooner than soon. Oh well, I will have something wonderful to return to on my next visit. I guarantee you will love this place!
(5)Chase W.
This place will not disappoint you. Everything is made from scratch. The smoked salmon dip is something that I could eat everyday. The chef/owners I have had the pleasure to meet several times TRUELY care about food and service.
(5)Nancy G.
Our first visit there this month and it was amazing. The place came highly recommended. The sea scallops were bigger than Kansas and so tender! Every dish we ate was awesome. Another nice thing is the service, which was friendly and the waitresses very knowledgeable. Also, the prices can't be beat. My seafood chowder-type dinner with a side and a salad was $15.99. We had a great time and would eat there again in a heartbeat. It's my new favorite Michigan restaurant.
(5)Michelle M.
Very good food. Service was a little slow for the drinks but the food was fresh and came out quick. We had the all you could eat walleye, fish and chips and the ribs and brisket. Bailey was the hostess and she really worked fast to seat people and clear tables, she did a little of everything. Good job Bailey. Will be back.
(4)Dave M.
Wherever you may live, going here for dinner is worth the trip. My choice was the four piece Bell's Ale battered walleye dinner with green beans and the cheddar mash potatoes. The fish was created perfectly. Green beans were fresh and crispy and the cheddar mash potatoes added a light side touch that nicely matched the flavor of the fish. The homemade tartar sauce (while quite a nice flavor of dill) was not needed at all to enhance the experience of the walleye.
(5)Laura H.
A favorite restaurant for both seafood and non-seafood eaters, and I understand why. Every dish (and dessert!) I've tried there is nothing short of perfection. If you're going at a busy time of day, I recommend making a reservation. It's always busy, but even without a reservation it's worth the wait!
(5)Andrew C.
Wow! Great food and Great service. The staff here is super friendly and does a great job. The menu has a nice variety and the food is outstanding! They only serve local craft beers but offer the most popular around and the menu has a nice description of each. The atmosphere is really nice and the view is even better. This is a great place to take that special someone or the whole family.
(5)Erica B.
First time here and it was so delicious. I had the pearch was not greasy was perfect. Coleslaw is great. My bf had coconut crusted chicken and clam chowder soup and it was so very good. Mom had the cod and it was not greasy it was cooked perfect. Will be back again. Make sure you make a reservation before you go.
(4)James W.
Havn't enjoyed a restaurant in a long time, loved this place. Even though cramped, was a great atmosphere. Food was good, staff great, view beautiful,
(4)Anonymous K.
Tried this restaurant after rave reviews from locals. We had the walleye 2-piece dinner for about $12 to 13 and the pieces were extremely small and they were a bit soggy. The cheddar mash potato portion also was extremely small. I am a tiny person 120 pounds and I was still hungry and had to go to Anita's restaurant across the street for dessert which I never ever eat after a meal but was still hungry. The salad dressing which I believe is made by them was very good. All in all, skimpy portions and not the best fish I have ever had. It seems to be very crowded by locals but maybe that is because their dining options are limited in this small town.
(2)Andy G.
For starters, every person working there greets you and totally friendly!! The service is outstanding. The meals are delicious, appealing and generous in portions. The prices are reasonable and a great value. Six stars out of 5!!!!
(5)Richard S.
This was our first visit to the Marine City Fish Company. I ordered the "Cajun Angels" (Beef tenderloins topped with Jumbo shrimp) with a side of cheesy mashed potatoes. My friend ordered the "Four Piece Fresh Walleye Fillets" with a side of fries. Both portions were very small for what they cost. The four piece Walleye dish was not four fillets as the menu states, but four chunks of Walleye. The batter was decent and the Walleye was properly cooked, but the fries were mushy and without a lot of taste. The beef tenderloins were the smallest I'd ever seen. They were cooked perfectly and had excellent taste, just small. The three shrimp were decent sized but not jumbo by any means. The sauce was pretty good, but the cheesy mashed potatoes were a disappointment. The bread was excellent. We ordered one coffee and one soda and the bill was $38 with tax. Our overall feeling was that the lunch was OK at best, but expensive for the small portions received.
(2)Fred R.
Had their fisherman's platter special. The shrimp was good but the coating on the perch and walleye had a floury taste. The walleye also didn't taste very fresh. Surprisingly my sister had the spare ribs and said they were excellent. I don't really care what a place looks like as long as it is clean but beware of going to the Men's Room. It is next to the kitchen door which swings out toward it. I almost got clobbered going to the bathroom.
(2)Kathleen D.
We had dinner on the patio last summer that was wonderful.... We were all cramped in pretty tight but we all seemed to compare each tables and dishes with the attitudes of friends and looking for our next menu offering perhaps!! We're from Florida so,when we can get good fresh fish, crab, scallops and king crab legs too! The staff was stressed --- seems we all came at the same time! But they muddled thru with smile and pleasant personalities!
(5)Sue N.
The Creole Salmon with garlic greens is perfect, crave-worthy, and consistently fresh. The pesto salad dressing is made in-house and one of the best dressings ever.
(5)Karl G.
I agree with all the 5-star reviews, :). A unique, fabulous dining experience accented by lovely downtown Marine City. Enjoyed the Bell Fish & Chips with a bowl of clam chowder & a salad. A unique batter & homemade tartar sets this dish apart from the rest, :). Genuine Westminster Bakers Co oyster crackers for your chowder. Romaine lettuce in the salads and a unique artisan style bread with your meal. Everything was so extraordinary, I just knew the desserts would be & had the Cherry Bliss (see pic). Followed it all with a pleasant stroll on a sunny afternoon along the St. Clair River ... it just don't get any better than that, :). Attention to detail puts MCFCo over the top, IMO ... and let's not forget the wait staff. Pleasant, professional, courteous, attentive, personable. Answered all my questions in an upbeat, polite manner. Went during lunch in the middle of the week, but I can see why reservations during prime dining times are recommended ... this place is undoubtedly a dining destination hotspot and well worth a trip, :).
(5)John K.
Great place to dine. From the cozy feel, the attentive smiling server and the very good food. We will remember this experience. The beer selection was very good and the server was very knowledgable on the beers that were offered. Should of asked her her name. The mussels were very good and the clamor was ok. Calamari batter was bland and the sauce on the side was a highlight. The salads were good. The caesar salad came with a pesto dressing which although wanted to try something different, i will stay with the classic dressing in the future. The smoked salmon salad with cheese was very good and the better of the two. Crab legs excellent and fair in pricing. The lobster ravioli was decadent and sinful but great flavors. The Jambalaya pasta was awesome as well, great spice. We went to enjoy fish and had two plates of pasta and loved it. Very odd but glad we made the call. Must go when in the area.
(4)Kathryn S.
My husband and I had seen the reviews and decided to try this place for lunch. Unfortunately, we were ignored by the waitstaff. When we tried to get the attention of a server, she turned her head and walked off. This happened a few times and we decided to leave. We had been there for approximately 15 minutes. There were four occupied tables at the time. I sent an email to the company about our experience but never received a response. My husband left a one star review on facebook for which the company did respond, asking for him to contact them because it did not sound like their waitstaff.
(1)Kate Z.
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service! Coleslaw is very, very good (&, yes, I'm judgmental of a place based on their coleslaw). I had the mahi maho fajitas which were excellent (served with a side of cabbage, not iceberg lettuce, which is a huge plus) and my dad had the whitefish special which he rated 'fantastic.' I will Most definitely be back the next time I'm in town!
(4)Lori C.
My parents live in the area and I've been looking forward to giving this place a try for a while now. Finally, last week my husband and I joined a few friends and had the most lovely dinner. We all hadn't seen one another for a while, and I would classify our evening as leisurely. Meaning we ordered drinks and waited a bit before ordering dinner. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly - we never felt rushed. The food was fabulous (I agree with one of the reviewers that the cole slaw is something else!). The home-made potato chips were also delicious - not a bit greasy. My husband had the cheesy mashed potatoes which were also heavenly. And all of the seafood was prepared to perfection. Good selection of craft beer - mostly local/Michigan, I think. Also a nice selection of Michigan wines -- they are available by bottle only. The glass selection is all California. Atmosphere is pleasantly unusual for the area. It is casual, comfortable, very inviting and not the least bit stuffy. I would have checked "hipster" as an ambience selection but this is Marine City so not sure that applies. Anyway, go there!
(5)Michele M.
I had the Jumbo Sea Scallops and clam chowder. Excellent!! The side veggies, carrots and sugar snap beans, were very tasty. The potato chips were also done right! The service was excellent. The restaurant needs a bigger dinning area. The tables are too close and it was way too hot inside. But the prices were right for the great food. My companions had the walleye with a side of cole slaw very good too.
(4)Stacy B.
We decided to give this restaurant a try over Easter, big mistake. We've always heard such good reviews about the food here; we were very disappointed in our experiences. We both ordered clam chowder, and it was the best thing that we had. The coleslaw that we ordered had large chunks of onion in it, along with dill ...just an odd combination for coleslaw. It was the worse coleslaw that we've had at any restaurant. At this point I just thought well it happens, on to the next. I ordered the Shrimp and scallops fajitas, what a disaster. My shrimp and scallops came out over cooked. My shrimp still had the tails on them, and my scallops were so chewy that they were inedible. The menu advertised with the fajitas a Caribbean salsa that came on the side, which was an epic disaster as well. To top off this horrible experience, was the price tag. I will never return to this restaurant, even if they gave me a free meal. If yelp had-1 stars I would use it.

This has to be listed as an UPDATE, due to the HIGH QUALITY MCFC also Smokes & Sells home made Jerky After dining here & enjoying E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G , i HAD TO TRY THE jerky Today's flavor was Hickory Mesquite I mistakenly only bought/ ordered a 1/4 pound . . .chalk up another regret $5 a 1/4 pound I did not touch.sample, eat the jerky until about 9pm Sunday Night Oh My Goodness! AS good if not better than ANY 'Up-North Jerky' & yes I have bought Jerky at the Dublin Store since 1975.. MOIST FILLED With Flavor Tender

Amazing place in beautiful little city. Try Italian Fisherman Seafood stew! Service good. A little slow for larger parties but food cooked to order. Basil pesto salad dressing and cherry vinagrette are a delicious surprise!
(5)Ken T.
Went for lunch with family after baseball tournament, staff friendly and great service.Food out of this world and a long list of craft beer. Found a new go to eatery.
(5)David R.
Summary: Food was very good. Service was marginal Wife and I made a spur of the moment decision to eat at Marine City Fish Company. We arrived at 7:30p Friday evening without a reservation. The wait was ~40 minutes. Once seated it took about 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us and another 5-6 minutes to actually stop at our table and take our drink orders. We decided to place drink AND food orders all at once. This proved wise as the service never improved. I had the special - Florida Snapper with Shrimp Scampi. Good portion which tasted very good. My spouse has sautéed Perch which also had a healthy portion and tasted very good. Yes we will return, but we'll know what to expect service-wise.

First let me say that people who write reviews based on cars blocking views and not getting good service (while important) should not participate in Yelp. Having a truck moved from a public street is not the responsibility of the restaurant or wait staff. Ignorant. This place is a full of charm, smiles, ambiance, and a splendid view. The food is unique, fresh and well just yummy. Go and enjoy.
(5)Damon S.
Even though this place is known for their fish I wanted to try the ribs. I travel quite a bit and look forward to trying places that have ribs and are not a chain restaurant. Let me say that this was my first visit to this eatery because of a friends recommendation and they were spot on how great the food is here. Ribs were smoked to perfection. BBQ sauce was amazing and the ribs were so meaty I couldn't believe it. I'm from Chicago where meat and ribs especially are supposed to be the best but hands down this place has the best ribs I have ever tasted. Also the fries were fresh hand cut fries and the coleslaw was fresh and terrific. I can't wait to go back and try the fish now!

I love to experience food from others points of view. I have heard such good things about this place. Menu sounds fantastic. But... Over an hour wait on a Wednesday at 530?? Ok. Understand limited seating. Service was deplorable. Unless our server was waiting ALL the tables out of all 20 tables, there was zero excuse to wait over 30 minutes for the salads/soup that came with our entrees. Then things rolled in after that ok. At the time of order, others in my party asked for extra tartar. 20 minutes after entre was delivered we had to ask another server to get our server to get the tartar. No one ever came back to ask how our meal was, did we need anything?, refill on beverage nothing. I got the Cajun salmon. The predominant seasoning was salt. And it was way over cooked. Fried shrimp & perch were enjoyed by others at my table & they liked those. My daughter got the Mac & cheese. Cheezeit crackers is creative on top for crunch but were also mixed in the sauce and made them soggy & nasty. She wouldn't even eat half. Very disappointing trip. May try one more time cuz everyone has a bad day but I won't go on expecting much.

We went to the a Fish Co for our first time on Valentine's Day. This place was AMAZING, we started with the fish company spread which was made with fresh salmon and fresh homemade baguettes? Delicious. We then tried both clam chowder soups and they have to be one of the best we ever had. For dinner we had the Whitefish which came on a smoked cedar plank and cooked to perfection. The other dinner was the Italian Fishermans Stew which is something you must try. More than you can eat with large scallops that melt in your mouth, fish, mussels and calamari. This meal was to die for. We even had to try their famous coleslaw which I normally wouldn't order as a side but they even make an amazing slaw I will definitely come again and again and again until I can try everything on the menu! BRAVO! Can't forget to mention the service which was very attentive and friendly. They also get 5 stars. Place is small so a reservation is needed for the weekends.

Well, I wanted to like this place. For starters we came here for the view. But, after about 10 minutes a man with a huge truck pulled up and completely blocked our view. We mentioned this to a waitress clearing a table but were completely ignored. Well at that time we were enjoying our clam chowder which was very good. So we thought at least the food is good. We had ordered the sautéed Walleye for our entree. My husband ordered the 4 piece meal and I ordered the two piece thinking that would be plenty of food. Well I basically received a plate full of chips with two incredibly tiny pieces of fish (smaller than a credit card). Wow, that was disappointing especially for the price. On the good news front the fish was good but overpriced but don't expect a view.

I finally was able to try this place since being hastily turned away at the door the first couple times. It's a shame it's such an upscale restaurant and the staff is one you'd expect to find at a Denny's. Whoever is in the kitchen is good at least! They have a unique menu and very fresh and tasty seafood. Still The hit or miss service leaves you with mixed feelings about going back. The server brought our salad in such a tiny plate the size of a butter dish with the lettuce falling out onto the table, i thought it was some sort of practical joke! It obviously was not meant for a salad. Anyway, the salmon dip appetizer makes it worth going, it's very good.

My family and I have been here at least 5 times and have had wonderful meals each time. While a lot if the staff is young, you can tell the management has done some training, which is such a rarity in must restaurants in the area. Great fish, well prepared, great service, ,great experience!

Finally a good place to come and have some really good fish. The perch was delicious. Clam chowder was ok, but missing some clams.

This place is a god-send for a small town like Marine City. We used to have to travel 30+ minutes for a good meal before the Fish Company came to be. The owners are locals, and the food is always top notch. They have specials throughout the week, smoked meats (and famous house-made jerkey that you can order), and items for non-seafood lovers alike. I have to recommend the Fisherman Stew as a main dish - you won't be disappointed. Generous portions of scallops, mussels, octopus (yes, you heard me), and FRESH pasta sheets nestled in a rich tomoto sauce. It's out of this world! Even if you're not a fan of such a hearty dish, going with the jumbo shrimp or fish and chips is a great alternative (the fries are unbelievable, and have a nice coat of course-ground sea salt). Want a "healthier" alternative? The mahi tacos are great! The fresh (warm, house-made) bread and butter is a favorite for my children. I love to order a bowl of their clam chowder and use the bread as my utensil (they have the best clam chowder around). The biggest problem with this place is that it's small and difficult to get a seat on weekends if you didn't make a reservation - but it's well worth the wait. Aside from that, you might not be a fan if you don't like free-form jazz music (for some reason, it's the music of choice for the restaurant). If you're not from the area, please visit the Fish Company. You get a great meal at a reasonable price, and get to watch the freighters travel down the Saint Clair River. Great place to bring friends you haven't seen in awhile.

This place came recommended by family and friends and it did not disappoint! The smoked fish appetizer and clam chowder were worth the trip alone. Everybody in our party had a very good meal and left completely satisfied. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good seafood.
